Error 1937 when Installing Office 2007

We were installing Office 2007 on a Vista Laptop when we got a stop error 1937 with something similar to "The signature or catalog could not be verified or is not valid" as part of the message. It turns out that before installing Office 2007, one should have the Microsoft .net Framework installed.

Microsoft .net Framework 1.1

Microsoft .net Framework 2.0

Microsoft .net Framework 3.0

A few notes:
  • I would install all the frameworks concurrently (i.e. 1.1, then 2.0, then 3.0)
  • For us, the error went away after installing the 3.0 Framework, and Office 2007 installed
  • This error seems to happen in other instances of installations, like Visual Studio: MS Forums
  • I think the bottom line is, if you get a nondescript error message while installing a Microsoft product, download the .net frameworks

Mouse and Dual Monitors on Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

This does not just apply to Command and Conquer 3, but to many different full-screen games and applications. On dual monitors, the mouse moves between both screens; it is not 'trapped' by the edge of the primary screen, and will move into the secondary screen, throwing off your game.

Solution: Alt:Tab out of the game, then Alt:Tab back into it. This will constrain the mouse to the primary monitor.
